Three men have been arrested following a police operation that resulted in the seizure of two firearms, ammunition, and illegal drugs valued at over $700,000 on the street.

According to a police spokesperson, the operation was conducted on Monday by the Bermuda Police Service’s specialist investigations unit and task force. The suspects, aged 19, 27, and 35, were taken into custody, while a fourth suspect, a 29-year-old man, is still being sought in connection with the case.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Smith of the specialist investigations unit stated, “The seizure of these two firearms brings the total number of weapons removed from the streets to 14 in the past ten months.”

He added, “The confiscation of these firearms, ammunition, and illegal drugs is highly significant, as it has undoubtedly prevented potential severe injury or loss of life. This operation underscores the commitment and determination of the officers within the Bermuda Police Service and our colleagues at the Bermuda Customs Department to safeguard our community from the threats posed by those involved in illegal activities.”
