Mary J. Blige has announced a new project with Lifetime titled Family Affair, inspired by her classic 2001 hit of the same name. Set for a 2025 release, the movie is part of Lifetime’s Voices of a Lifetime series. Blige serves as an executive producer through her company, Blue Butterfly Productions. Directed by Troy Scott and written by Rachel Ingram, the film follows characters Kendra and Ben as they navigate the challenges of building a life outside the city, blending families, and personal dilemmas. Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi, who starred in Blige’s previous Lifetime films Real Love and Strength of a Woman, will reprise their roles(Rolling Out)(KHOP-FM).

This collaboration builds on the success of Blige’s earlier Lifetime projects, further expanding her influence in storytelling beyond music. The project reflects her ongoing commitment to creating stories that resonate with real-life experiences and themes of love, growth, and resilience(KHOP-FM).
