Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial has been postponed until October 14, 2025, moving from the originally scheduled date of January 7. The delay is attributed to the need for additional time to prepare due to the complex and voluminous evidence involved, which includes about 230 GB of digital evidence and roughly 20,000 pages of reports. This evidence encompasses audio and video recordings, surveillance footage, witness statements, and medical records.

The case centers on allegations that Durk, whose legal name is Durk Derrick Banks, orchestrated a retaliatory attack against rapper Quando Rondo, linked to the death of Durk’s close associate, King Von. The attack tragically resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, in August 2022.

Durk faces severe charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and related weapons offenses. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment or even the death penalty. Currently, he is detained without bail in Los Angeles, awaiting the rescheduled trial date. A motion hearing is also scheduled for August 11, 2025, as part of the pre-trial proceedings
