Watch Kevin Parker debut a new Tame Impala song during Barcelona DJ set

It’s been over five years since Tame Impala released their last album, The Slow Rush, but fans just got their first taste of what could be next. Kevin Parker surprised attendees in Barcelona this weekend by debuting a brand-new Tame Impala track during an impromptu DJ set at Nitsa Club on Saturday (June 7), following a surprise appearance at Primavera Sound the night before.

Before dropping the unreleased song, Parker teased the crowd: “You guys wanna hear a new Tame Impala song? You’re going to be the first ones to hear it—there’s no going back from this point on. Alright, let’s do it. Get comfortable.”

The unnamed track features a pulsating electro-house rhythm, layered with atmospheric synths, added percussion, and Parker’s signature dreamy vocals. It marks the first solo material from Tame Impala since 2020 and could signal the beginning of a new era for the Australian project.

The last official release involving Tame Impala was their feature on Justice’s track “Neverender,” from the French duo’s 2024 album Hyperdrama. Earlier this year, Parker also joined Dua Lipa onstage in Sydney to perform “The Less I Know the Better.” He played a major production role on her album Radical Optimism, further fueling anticipation for his own return.
