A copyright lawsuit against Megan Thee Stallion over her hit song “Savage” has been dismissed by a New York court. The lawsuit, filed by James A. Greene, claimed that the song’s producer, J White Did It, had access to Greene’s 1999 track “It’s About To Be On” and copied it for “Savage.” However, Judge Katherine Polk Failla ruled that there was insufficient evidence to prove the producer had reasonable access to Greene’s track or that the two songs were strikingly similar enough to suggest copying. The court concluded that Greene’s claims did not meet the necessary legal standards to demonstrate copyright infringement
